Jason Baker is the Director of Information Systems at IdeaSmiths, where he leads the development of custom software and data tools tailored to meet complex client engagement needs.

With a background rooted in early-stage B2B SaaS and data startups—including FreightWaves/SONAR and Blumen Systems—Jason has operated across the entire technical stack. His experience spans data science, full-stack development, data engineering, and DevOps. Throughout his career, he has led high-impact initiatives such as deploying vehicle routing engines, building large-scale ETL pipelines and data lakehouses, incorporating machine learning and large language models into product features, and operating distributed cloud infrastructure via Kubernetes and Google Cloud.

Jason is passionate about large-scale systems design, creating elegant abstractions, and identifying the most efficient layer of the stack to solve problems. His approach is defined by a commitment to data-driven decision-making, observability, and efficiency.
